A special thank you to goes to the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens for hosting my family. Opinions expressed are that of my own.
My family recently visited The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens in Sanford Florida and since I had been there before, I decided to let my children lead the way.
Through their exploration of this Orlando area attraction, one of the things that really intrigued them was the Barnyard Buddies Children’s Zoo. To see my previous visit check out Visiting the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens!
My kiddos enjoyed this area so much that we visited it at the beginning of our day and then again before we left. They definitely love to get hands on and this section gave them plenty of opportunities.
During our visit, we also enjoyed many of the other kid friendly amenities that the Zoo has to offer!
There is a theater viewing area right in front of the Rhinos, and we thought it was neat to sit and watch these large land mammals walk around.
This enclosure houses Indian Rhinos Jahia and PJ, as part of the The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens conservation plan.
One of their other favorite spots of the day (of course) was the playground. My older 2 spent A LOT of time on the swing and my youngest LOVED the slide. I was able to sit down, relax, and watch them, and was only able to tear them away when we needed to grab a drink.
The kiddos also got to feed a giraffe. I really enjoyed witnessing them get this close, it truly was a cool experience.
After this, we then continued to walk around the zoo and visit a variety of animals. I even gave my kiddos the camera so they could take a few photos of their own. My daughter actually caught a great photo of an alligator.

When we returned to the Barnyard Buddies Children’s Zoo, I noticed that we could purchase food for the animals. I went into the Zoofari Gift Shop and bought them each a $1.00 worth of feed.
This was affordable and plenty for the kiddos to share with the animals in the enclosure.
