LYSOL is introducing an initiative called Healthing, which is a new idea centered on keeping families as healthy as possible. This is achieved by looking beyond just cleaning and ensuring that the proper steps are taken to stay well by killing germs on commonly touched surfaces.
I got an opportunity to check out the LYSOL Healthing Tips, and a few that really stuck out to me were, wiping down easy to reach surfaces, and disinfecting places that you don’t see or think about often, like cabinet handles or sink drains. They also discussed making cleaning and disinfecting a family activity.
Of course the one tip that stuck out most in my mind was to practice “Proper Hand Washing” since it is the single most important thing you can do to prevent illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
To help spread the word about Healthing, LYSOL and television personality Giuliana Rancic have partnered together to visit select YMCA’s across the country to provide hands-on education. Making the idea fun and relatable to kids, families will be taught about the products and steps required to practice improved hygiene habits in their own home. Lysol will also provide educational information and disinfecting products to the local YMCAs, along with the donation of a one-year membership to a deserving family.
Personally, I already use the LYSOL Dual Action Disinfecting Wipes for my regular cleaning. They are an easy and convenient disinfectant tool that offers the scrubbing side to help clean up tougher messes. If and when sickness hits our home, it is nice to have a product handy to wipe down surfaces, door handles, faucets, and other items like remotes and telephones.
