Publix recently had a deal on Bic Razors where they were Buy One Get One Free. In addition, there was also a Bic Coupon in the paper for $3 off that would make the razors FREE of you used a coupon on each Razor purchased.
Well of course everyone in town was HOT for this deal and when I went into the store, the shelves were totally cleared.
I went straight to customer service to get a rain check because I happen to have 10 of these coupons, and if I could get all of those for FREE, that would be a total value of $57.45, which also included a little bit of an overage that I could apply to another transaction.
My stores rain checks are good for 30 days and the items have to be on sale in order to get the rain check.
So about about 2 weeks into the rain check they were still out. Well yesterday, I had to pick up some fruit for a Mother’s Day get together and ran into the store, and although the shelves were still cleared, they have a stock out place up at the check-out that had the razors.
So I got them and applied the overage to the fruit! And now my husband and I do not have to buy razors for a very long time!
So if you are feeling discouraged after you went to all that effort to clip those coupons, and feel tempted to just leave store in frustration, don’t do it. Get your rain check! As you can see, eventually it can pay off!
Do you currently rain check? Do you know your stores policy? I would definitely check it out the next time the shelves are cleared.
