“This post was sponsored by Pledge® and Dollar General, and I was compensated to write it. Regardless, what I have written is my own opinion and experience, and I hope you find it of use.”

Using homemade T-Shirt Clothes on Piano

I go through paper towels like crazy in my house due to cleaning, spills, and having an older dog. Lately I have been using more than I would like to, so I decided it was time to make cleaning cloths to reduce consumption and to have on hand for dusting, cleaning up the kitchen, and wiping off mirrors.

My inspiration for this actually came from when I bought my hubby car cleaning supplies for Father’s Day. One of the items we purchased were cloths made from T-Shirt material.

DYI T-Shirt Cloths for Multipurpose Cleaning

So when it was time to make my own cloths, I grabbed 2 old t-shirts and cut them each up into 5 pieces.

I have used these T Shirt Cloths to wipe off the counters in my kitchen, remove dust from the wood tables in my living room and the screen of my TV, and make my mirrors clear in the bathroom. Of course they didn’t do it alone and I added Pledge® Multi Surface cleaner and Pledge® Lemon Clean to help get them clean.

Homemade T-Shirt Clothes

Both Pledge® Multi Surface cleaner and Pledge® Lemon Clean make housework simpler through their ability to be used on multiple surfaces.

Pledge® Multi Surface is available in 2 formulas including: Pledge® Multi Surface Cleaner and Pledge® Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner. I used the Pledge® Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner and it can be used on surfaces such as wood, stainless steel, granite, porcelain, electronics, laminate, and more.

Using homemade t shirt clothes to clean a mirror with Pledge Multipurpose

Plus, since it is a 2 in 1 cleaner it is also a disinfectant, killing up to 99.9% of germs including the H1N1 (influenza A) virus.*

As for Pledge® Lemon Clean, this furniture spray has no wax build up and can be used not only on wood, but also on plastic and leather. It has an awesome scent and also features Allergen Trappers® to remove dust and up to 90 percent of the allergens found in dust.

Pledge in store at Dollar General

I used this on my living room tables and my son’s piano and the dust was easily removed. Please refer to the labels or visit Pledge®’s website to see which surfaces both these products are most effective on.

Want to try Pledge® Multi Surface cleaner and Pledge® Lemon Clean for yourself?

Not only am I saving money by reusing these clothes, but I also used a coupon and saved in store on Pledge® at Dollar General!

This is such a great idea. I have so many old shirts in the closet that I could repurpose for cleaning in this way.

I don't know why I haven't already been doing it. My mother used to do this when we were kids.

My husband will grab a old stained up shirt and just go use it as a rag this way makes it look nicer. We also use socks too like jamie mentioned. Pledge is great for helping picking up dust and I like coupons too. Thanks for sharing.

That's a great way to re-purpose old shirts! Most time I give my old shirts to second hand places but end up throwing away the ones with holes.

Old cotton shirts make good cleaning cloths. I use them to clean my LED screens and to clean countertops too. Pledge helps a lot it making things sparkly clean and nice smelling.

I love Pledge especially the multi purpose one. All of our old tshirts are used for cleaning cloths. They do the job and it's super frugal.

My mother would buy Pledge and we would clean every weekend with it. That is such a great way to save money. I spend so much on paper towels that I need to do this myself.

I was just talking about how many rolls we go thru so quickly in my home! It's ridiculous. We have plenty of old tees so I'm going to give this a try.
