I had heard from a couple people that Publix took competitors coupons, but I had never done anything about it. I decided to call my local Publix and ask them if this was true. Of course, I am a detailed person and a bit skeptical so I asked additional questions to get some clarification. Obviously I didn’t want to go to all of effort and then be told at check out that they wouldn’t accept them.
I asked the gentleman on phone if Publix took competitors coupons, and he said yes. Then just to clarify,
I said “For example, a mailer came to my home today from Albertson’s for $5.00 off a $50.00 purchase. Will you take these?” He said yes.
He then told me that they will take coupons from any store that carries groceries in the area.
I said “So CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc, you will take those?” He said yes.
I then proceeded to comb through all the Grocery Store Flyers I had. None of the other flyers had coupons, but I knew that Target on-line had a ton that corresponded with the Redplum insert.
Some of the Target Coupon highlights were:
$1.00 off a Produce Item
$1 off Multipack of Nature Valley Bars
$1 off Del Monte fruit cups
$.75 off Kudos
$.75 off Kelloggs Fiber Plus Cereal
$.75off Kraft string cheese

So this Friday, I will be taking all of my competitor coupons to Publix to see if they will honor all the ones I found.
I will update after the trip. Let’s cross our fingers for a ton of savings.
