Looking for a family fun event in the Tampa bay area? The South Florida Museum has a program on the 1st Saturday of each month where they stay open late for an evening of family fun.
Every month they have a different theme with hands-on activities and special performances or films. You can also enjoy a live star talk, a space show in the planetarium and a manatee presentation. Admission is half-priced after 4pm; members are free. Food is available for purchase.
October’s program is Farming, Food and Fun! and Chipotle will be there to help you make your own guacamole and you can meet some of your local farmers! Check out the details below.

October 2nd: Farming, Food and Fun!— Come play with your food! Learn about healthy food choices, local resources and fun ways to get more involved with the food you eat. Screening of “What’s on Your Plate” at 4:15 followed by crafts/activities. Chipotle will be here to help you make your own guacamole and you can meet some of your local farmers!
November 6th: No Family Night—Due to our Annual Snooty’s Gala, there will be no Family Night.
December 4th: Toys, Toys, Toys! — ‘Tis the season for toys and fun! Join us for a family friendly film in the planetarium theater at 4:15 followed by toy related crafts and activities. Pop upstairs to see our classic toy exhibit and enjoy planetarium shows all evening. Source: South Florida Museum

About The South Florida Museum
The South Florida Museum is located at 201 10th Street West in downtown Bradenton. Current operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $15.95 for adults, $13.95 for seniors (65 and over), $11.95 for children (ages 4-12). Children ages 3 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
