Just like most during the pandemic, we have had to pivot on many occasion when it came to plans. I actually intended to post about this Create Your Own Rock Art Kit back in May but ended up with a sick kiddo.
However, we finally got to finish a few of the creations and I am excited to share today.
In the past we have created Kindness Rocks and hid them around our community. It is a neat activity to do together as a family and since we are a part of a local rock group, we leave hints for people to find them.
Of course we have always winged this craft with using what we had or made a store run to get whatever else we needed.
It would have been nice to have everything conveniently available in one box, and this is where the Create Your Own Rock Art Kit comes in.
The Create Your Own Rock Art Kit is intended for ages 6 and up and is great for hand eye coordination.
Although intended for individual use, it basically had enough supplies for both of my younger children.
All I needed to do was add an additional pack of Go Create Primary Acrylic paints and an extra foam brush.
The Rock Art kit includes 3 lbs of Rocks, Glitter Glue Tubes, Transfers (AKA Temporary Tattoos) and Acrylic Paint. It also has a Paint Brush, and Foam Brush. FYI, the packaging may appear differently and I gave an example below.
To get my kids started with the activity, I placed down newspaper and them wear aprons to protect the surface and their clothing. I then set them up with their own rocks, transfers and paints.
I simply gave them what they needed and let their imagination go. I really like that this kit has Tattoo transfers with cute animals, shapes, and sayings like “DREAM and Smile”.
