Now this is not my family’s first experience with Creative Roots products, we actually checked out the decorative stepping stones a few years back.
The stepping stones have stood the test of time since we are still enjoying them over 2 years later.
Now the reason I like these Creative Roots kits are the fact that they come with everything you need to create the craft. There is the ceramic item, paint brush, as well as acrylic paints.
Since my daughter is 12, I simply opened up the package and let her use her creativity to create her own unique turtle design.
As for making the process easier, I put down newspaper to protect the surface, a cup of water to wash off the paint brush, as well as an apron for my daughter along with paper towels to cleanup any messes.
Of course she took some inspiration from the packaging but quickly used her art skills to combine colors to make a shade of green and then took her time to add details to the Creative Roots Paint Your Own Turtle Craft.

Tip: One thing that we have learned to do in order to expand the life of our painted surfaces, is to add a layer of Modge Podge or Glue to seal in the paint.
As you can see, this turtle makes an awesome addition to an outdoor table and garden bed, or it could displayed in a child’s room to admire.
