Faith Based Books for Kids To Read For Family Time!

disclosure-for-site

December 19, 2019 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 27 Comments

A special thank you goes out to Tommy Nelson Publishing for sending my family books to read and review. Opinions expressed in “Faith Based Books for Kids To Red For Family Time”, are that of my own.

With all the craziness of school and the holidays, I long for the down time to enjoy the simple moments where I can either sit and read with my family or listen to my daughter read to my youngest.

Faith Based Books for Kids That Families Can Read Together!

Not only is this an opportunity to spend quality time together, but it encourages their imagination as well as a long term love of reading. Plus, it is a great way to simply unplug from devices or wind down after a day of activity.

Recently, we have been enjoying Faith Based Books for Kids from Tommy Nelson Publishing and these include:

Night Night Zoo

This is a fun way to learn about the animals that might be at a zoo as well as see that God is watching over all of his creation even as they settle down for bed. It also is a great way to explain the importance of a child’s nighttime routine, since the animals are eating dinner, taking baths, brushing their teeth, and eventually settling into bed,

Written by Amy Parker and Illustrated by Virginia Allyn, this board book is great for little hands and perfect for an older sister to read to her little brother. You can locate Night Night Zoo online under the ISBN 978-1-4003-1014-2 for the suggested retail price of $9.99.

Night Night Bible Stories

An excellent supplement to Sunday School and Church services is this collection of Night Time Stories. It is a wonderful way to reinforce stories they may have already learned, plus it makes these passages in the Bible relatable for smaller children.

Look for Night Night Bible Stories online under the ISBN 978-1-4002-0891-3 for the suggested retail price of $16.99.

Night Night Devotions

Along with Night Night Bible Stories, the Night Night Devotions is an ideal supplement to religious education. It continues to tell many of the same Bible Stories but puts them into context so a child can apply the lessons to their lives.

My daughter read both of these books long after her little brother had moved on to something else.

She found the details interesting and started telling me about it the stories she read and the lessons she was learning about.

Look for Night Night Devotions online under the ISBN 978-1-4002-0890-6 for the suggested retail price of $16.99. For another Amy Parker Book, check out Night Night, Sleepytown.

Only You Can Be You

What makes us different is what makes us great is the theme of this story. Whether Fast or Slow, Loud or Quiet, Tall or Short or Tough or Tender, Only You Can Be You, and we are all unique because God made us that way.

Written by Nathan and Sally Clarkson and Illustrated by Tim Warnes, this rhyming Children’s Book has fun examples of all types of kids as well as animals and nature. Look for Only You Can Be You online under the ISBN 978-1-4002-1143-2 for the suggested retail price of $16.99.

Dinner for Dinos

My kids think Dinosaurs are awesome, and if these reptiles are willing to try new foods, then they might just be adventurous as well.

By Thomas Nelson and illustrated by Ben Whitehouse, this is a board book for young children created to make dinner time fun and less stressful. Look for it online for Dinner For Dinos: Gulp, Guzzle, Chomp, Chew under the ISBN-13:978-1-4003-1214-6 for the suggested retail price of $9.99.

What are some of your family’s favorite books to read together or any memories from your youth of favorite books? I would love to hear your thoughts below!
