Nothing speaks to summer like Pool Play and an Oven S’mores Recipe! Unfortunately, with rainy days and lots of activities sometimes our pool sits untouched for a week.
Since I really haven’t been adhering to the usual bedtime, I decided to take the fun into the night and get the kiddos out for water play after dark.
Now swimming at night time can be a little tricky, especially with areas that don’t get as much lighting. It is important to pay close attention to the day time rules as well as light up the outside as best as possible.
Even with our existing outdoor lighting I could still use additional illumination, and this is where the Energizer® Fusion LED Folding Lantern comes in handy.
I set up the lantern on the opposite side of the pool to give the kiddos extra light to see around the edges.

Now before you embark on your next after dark adventure, consider the following Tips For Maximizing Pool Play:
- Have everyone take a trip to the bathroom before you head out.
- Light up the outside for optimal vision.
- Clear debris or furniture from around the pool to avoid tripping.
- Have toys inflated and ready to go.
- Never leave children unattended.
- Absolutely no running.
- Set down mobile devices while on pool duty.
- Bring towels outside so they are ready when the kids leave the pool.

Of course getting out of the pool at night can be slightly chillier than in the day and recently after showers , I made the kiddos S’mores. If you would like to recreate this quick and simple Oven S’mores Recipe, follow the directions below:
Oven S’mores Recipe
-Graham Crackers
-Package of Marshmallows
-Chocolate Bars
Directions:
To create, layer graham crackers on a non stick sheet and place a marshmallow on each one. Break apart the chocolate bars. Then place the oven on Broil. Next insert graham crackers into the oven and watch the marshmallows. Allow them them to brown, this will probably take 30 seconds to a minute.
Remove the pan from the oven and immediately place a piece of chocolate on top. Then press down the top with another graham cracker. These Oven S’mores are warm, melting, and ready to serve. (With small children, check the temperature of the Oven S’mores before you serve as to not burn their mouths).
