Scary Halloween Pumpkin Patch Cake and Tutorial

Are you looking for easy to make cakes for this Holiday season? How about a few Halloween cakes that are simple to decorate?

Well thanks to Duncan Hines, I was sent samples of their Perfect Size Cakes that are not only easy and simple to prepare, but are also completed in approximately 45 minutes!

Varieties of Duncan Hines Perfect Size Cakes

I made each of my kids a cake, as well as a couple for myself and we went to decorating for Halloween. To recreate most of these cakes, you will need Candy Eyes, Gel Icing, and a little imagination.

Duncan Hines Perfect Size Cakes provide a serving size up to 5. Each package contains a cake mix, frosting mix, and a disposable 6-inch round pan which makes clean up a breeze.

Duncan Hines Perfect Size Cake Red Velvet

They are available in five deliciously indulgent favors including:

Golden Fudge – golden cake and chocolate fudge frosting, Chocolate Lover’s – chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, Red Velvet Dream – red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, Lemon Bliss – lemon cake with lemon frosting, and Strawberries and Cream – strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting.

What comes in a Duncan Hines Perfect Size Cake

For a Purple People Eater Cake, you will need Black and Red Sparkle Icing, 1 Candy Corn, 1 Candy Eye Ball, and Red Velvet Dream Cake.

To turn the frosting purple simply add 4 drops of red and 7 drops of food coloring and mix.

Purple People Eater

For my son’s Frankenstein Cake, you will need Black and Red Sparkle Icing, 2 Candy Eye Balls, and a Lemon Bliss Cake.

To turn the frosting green, simply add 3 drops of blue food coloring to the mixture and combine.

Frankenstein Cake

For my Scary Halloween Pumpkin Patch Cake, you will need Green Gel Sparkle Icing, 5 Pumpkin Candies, and 10 Candy Eyeballs as well as a Chocolate Frosting Cake.

To create, simply frost the cake, add squiggle lines with leaves, and finish with the eyes and pumpkins.
