Things To Do Around The Holidays in Kissimmee Florida – Day 1! #SnowyHoliday

I was provided complimentary accommodations and access to the events for the Snowy Holiday Experience Kissimmee Event.

Day 1 Highlights Snowy Holiday

Last week, I had shared that my daughter and I would be spending some time in Kissimmee, Florida to check out the Holiday events happening in the area. Well we made our trip, and now I am happy to share all of the awesome experiences!

After arrival in town, I checked us into the Encantada Resort. For the next 3 nights we would be sleeping in a luxury villa fully loaded with a hot tub, big screen TVs, and nice comfy beds. Once we were settled into our rooms, we headed out to dinner to start our Snowy Holiday, and to see Christmas at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.

Gaylord Palms Christmas

This would be a first time visit for both of us to Gaylord Palms and the first 3 words that come to my mind are “Big and Beautiful”.

We walked around to take it all in and came across an indoor pond with fish, turtles, and even alligators. The interior of the resort was lush and green and decorated for the holiday season.

After this, we headed over to Sunset Sam’s at Gaylord Palms and that in itself was quite the experience. I mean WOW, my daughter and I got to eat on a boat in the water that was inside of a building.

Getting my daughter to finish her dinner was quite the challenge since she kept wanting to get up and explore the boat.  I was not having this issue though because the the food was delicious and that tomato was YUMMY!

Next, we headed over to see all of the attractions within the Christmas at Gaylord Palms. Our first stop was to watch the Orlando Ballet recreate parts of “The Nutcracker”.

In the background stood a huge decorated Christmas tree along with strands of sparkly lights.

Once the ballet dancers completed their performances, the stage was then taken over by an elaborate rock concert from Luminescence.

There were Aerial performers, renditions of Christmas Carols, and even a drum player floating in the air. It was pretty AWESOME!

After the show, we headed over to see what else was happening on the premises. First stop was the Snow Tubing and Little Miss and I managed to go down this once. There was hot chocolate and other sweets waiting for us afterward.

However, my daughter was more interested in making her way over to see ICE at Gaylord Palms. Since she is going to be a Gum Drop in a production of The Nutcracker, she was excited to see all of the frozen statues.

Once we were fully dressed in heavy coats provided by Gaylord Palms, we headed in. FYI, I highly recommend bringing a set of gloves since you will be in 9 Degrees Fahrenheit.

I have to be honest and say that my pictures do not do this place justice.  It is definitely a sight to be seen in person.  There are so many scenes with beautiful colors and the craftsmanship is breathtaking.

And speaking of how this was made, we even saw one of the individuals from Harbin, China that created this indoor structure. He was in the process of making new items as we walked by.

Of course the highlight of my daughters visit was going down the Ice Slide.  I think she probably did this more than 10 times, and sent plenty of smiles and giggles my way.

When we were finished with our tour of ICE, we paid a visit to the gift shop.  Little Miss picked out the perfect souvenir, An Ice Ballerina Ornament. There was even more to do, so on our next visit we will be sure to visit Santa and share milk and cookies with Mrs. Claus.

Have you visited Gaylord Palms Christmas before? What do you think would be your first stop at the event?

I have seen so many reviews about Kissimmee vacations and what amazes me is how different each one is. Just when you think you know about the things to do there, someone shows you a whole new world of sights and activities.
