Verizon Wireless Edge – Upgrade Your Phone When YOU Want!

“Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Ambassadors SE Voices program and have been provided with a wireless device in exchange for my honest opinions about the product. Information in this post was provided by Verizon”

Verizon Wireless Edge

Are you someone who likes to keep up with the latest mobile technology and doesn’t want to be locked into a long-term contract?

As part of the Verizon Ambassadors SE Voices program, I attended a webinar to find out information about a new service called Edge.  This program gives Wireless users the ability to UPGRADE their phone when they want.

Verizon Wireless Customers using Edge simply pay for their phone over a 24 month period versus paying for it all upfront. After six months, if at least 50% of the balance on the phone has been paid, the user has the option to EDGE UP to a new phone. The device must be returned in good working condition and have no significant damage, and all Verizon Wireless smartphones and basic phones are eligible for this program.

Edge allows users to upgrade every year with NO upgrade fees and NO long-term service contract!

I am happy with my current phone and plan, but technology does change pretty rapidly. If you like to have the newest in mobile devices, Edge will definitely help keep you keep up to date with the latest on the market. As my kids get older and hit the teen years, this definitely could be a service that would come in handy.

Want to know if you are eligible for Verizon Edge?

To participate in Edge, existing customers must have (6) six months of good payment history and be eligible for an upgrade. Existing customers with accounts less than six months or new customers, will need to go through an internal e-credit check. This is currently not available for Prepaid accounts.  To learn more about this service and additional terms, visit Verizon Wireless Edge.

Are you currently locked into a Long Term Wireless program? Is there a phone you want but can’t get because of your contract?

NO upgrade fees and a shorter upgrade period does sound pretty awesome to me!

I'm locked into a contract- I'm okay with the phone I have now, but it would have been nice to be able to upgrade when my husband shattered his phone a couple of weeks ago! That set us back a pretty penny.

We use no contract plans and we're pretty happy with them. I just upgraded my iPhone 4S to a HTC One (which I won in a giveaway). Of course otherwise we have to buy our devices out of pocket but we like the idea of being able to cancel without penalties if we choose to when we want. We kind of feel phones are coming out way too fast these days too, some of them are 'obsolete' before they're even a year old!

I love this option!!! I wish TMobile would do something like this!! I know you can sell your phone 3rd party, but that's SUCH a pain.
