I recently shared that I would be attending a very special Disneynature Monkey Kingdom & All Star Vacation Homes hosted event in Orlando, FL in April.
Well this exciting news got me inspired to look for fun monkey activities to do with my family.
While searching online, I found and purchased 5 – ZOO ANIMAL COOKIE CUTTERS that included a monkey. I figured we could make a few animal shaped foods with these and of course cookies.
Well my shipment arrived today, and I immediately put it to use by creating a Monkey Kingdom Inspired Kid’s Lunch for my little guy.
If you would like to recreate this lunch, this is what you will need:
– Monkey Cookie Cutter
– A Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwich (I used wheat bread)
– Half a banana, sliced
– Dried Cranberries
– 3-5 pieces of small broccoli florets
– A baby carrot sliced
– Vanilla Yogurt
Directions:
First prepare your sandwich, and apply the cookie cutter at an angle on a hard surface, I used a cutting board.
Then, carefully remove the monkey out of the cookie cutter. Mom or Dad can then eat the leftovers.
Next, arrange your broccoli (AKA Trees) and carrots (AKA Orange Flowers) together.
Then, add your little monkey’s favorite fruits, and finally add a small bowl of yogurt on the plate. Serve immediately.

About Disneynature Monkey Kingdom:
Life is an adventure for Maya, the clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey in “Monkey Kingdom,” Disneynature’s new feature film set among ancient ruins in the storied jungles of South Asia. Maya’s world is forever changed when she welcomes her son, Kip, into her complicated extended family. Like all families, Maya’s has more than its share of colorful personalities—and she’s determined to give her son a leg up in the world. When their longtime home at Castle Rock is taken over by powerful neighboring monkeys, Maya’s whole family retreats, and she uses her street smarts and ingenuity to uncover untapped resources amidst strange new creatures and unsettling surroundings. Ultimately, they will all have to work together to reclaim Castle Rock, where Maya can hopefully realize her dreams for her son’s future.
Featuring a rich variety of characters, including a mischievous mongoose, simple-minded langur monkeys, predatory leopards and monitor lizards, “Monkey Kingdom” is narrated by Tina Fey (“30 Rock”), directed by Mark Linfield (“Chimpanzee,” “Earth”) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Chimpanzee,” “Bears”). With music from award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams (“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Shrek” movies).
