Thanks to House Party, I was given an opportunity to host a Zatarain’s Brings Mardi Gras Home House Party.
Our event was a success, and I am super excited to share our EASY Party Ideas!
For my event, I decided to make the Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice and the Jambalaya Maque Choux minus the corn (favorite dish by party goers).
Plus, I found a Recipe for Gumbo like my Grandmother used to make and I just omitted the fish.
In addition, I used the enclosed Creole Seasoning on Salmon.
I simply cooked the Salmon through on the stove at medium high (See the USDA recommendations for Fish) and brushed it with margarine and sprinkled it with the Creole Seasoning. It tasted wonderful.
My kit also came with a recipe for King Cake Cupcakes. Of course I improvised and turned this into a King Cake by using a Yellow Cake mix and adding a Tablespoon of the Root Beer Extract into a pre-made mix of icing.
I put some sprinkles on top, and it was yummy!
I also found a Cajun Radio Station called Gumbo Radio on Live365.com to help set the mood. It has since shut down so I also found a New Orleans Playlist at Pandora.
To decorate, I put beads and Mardi Gras Masks around the house.

They had a great time with this craft and I think the adults enjoyed wearing the masks!

The food was awesome, the company was great, and I hardly had any leftovers.
Thank you House Party and Zatarain’s for a great party concept!
