After watching this Disney Junior series on DVD, I have to admit that as a parent I am now a big fan of the show. It is fun to see variations of these traditional characters and stories as well as the lessons that can be learned like cooperation, compromise, empathy, and teamwork.
If you are not familiar with the series, Disney’s Goldie & Bear follows the adventures of Goldie and her new found best friend Bear following the renowned porridge incident of “Goldilocks and The Three Bears.” It also has well known characters like Humpty Dumpty, Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf.
The Voice Cast includes familiar favorites such as Natalie Lander of ABC’s “The Middle” as Goldie; Georgie Kidder of Disney XD’s “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” as Bear; and Jim Cummings of Disney Junior’s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” as Big Bad Wolf.
Disney’s Goldie & Bear: Best Fairytale Friends DVD retails for $19.99 and comes with 7 episodes equaling 14 stories that include: The Birthday Chair/ Big Bear, Fee Fi Fo Shoe/ Little Gold Riding Hood, Bear’s Red Shoes/ Goose Sitters, Moon Jump/ Big Good Wolf, Pinocchio-itis/ The Clubhouse That Jack Built, The Egg/ Golden Kickball, and Thumbelina’s Wild Ride/ Big Bad Houseguest. This was already a favorite of my 3 year old, but now all of my kiddos have enjoyed seeing these fairy tales presented in a new and different way.
