Encourage Young Children to Eat More Fruits and Vegetables!

It is extremely important that I provide my children with a well balanced diet filled with a variety of foods.

As you may already know, little ones can be stubborn and don’t always make the best food choices.  It is up to me to keep things interesting and continually introduce my kiddos to better meal options. I have done this through keeping fruits and vegetables convenient and entertaining.

Wanting to do the same with your Little One? Here are Fun Ways to Encourage Young Children to Eat More Fruits and Vegetables!

1. Create crafts out of produce – We have made Avocado Spiders, Tomato Monsters, as well as Banana Pirate Ships. The best part of course is eating them.

2. Visit a farm or farmers market and have them pick their own produce – First off it is cool to see where our food comes from. We have visited a local farm to pick blueberries and strawberries as well as tomatoes. My 3 year old of course wanted a huge onion and apple.

3. Have easy and convenient products like Sprout® Organic Foods – These are ready to go in a purse, lunchbox, or diaper bag. They are simple to eat and have an appealing look and taste. My little guy is especially a fan of squeezing and eating the Purees!

4. Set up a garden at home – We have planter boxes in our backyard that are easy to maintain and we have planted onions, peppers, and sunflowers in the past. My kiddos have enjoyed harvesting and eating the fruits of their labor.
