Over Thanksgiving vacation, we took the kiddos to see MOANA and loved it!
Between the strong female character, excellent story of Polynesian roots, and amazing songs, well I am definitely wanting the soundtrack as well as the Blu-Ray! Plus, I have kiddos adding the toys to their Christmas Lists.
Since we really enjoyed this film, it inspired me to make a Christmas Ornament Craft that has a Hawaiian look with blue waves, sand (or snow) as well as a Hibiscus Flowers.
The best part of course is this is an activity and memory you can share with your family and all of the items can be found at you local Dollar Tree or Craft Store.
Hawaiian Themed Christmas Ornament Craft
What you need:
Plastic Globe Ornament
Water colors paint brush
Blue Glitter Glue
Fake Foam Snow
Artificial Hibiscus Flowers
Directions:
First remove the top and squeeze Blue Glitter Glue into the ornament. Next, take the brush and spread it thinly through the bottom.
Do this is a wave motion and then allow it to dry (this may take up to 24 hours or longer). Then add 1/2 Cup of foam snow (I used a piece of paper to make a funnel and this made it so much easier).
Next place 1-3 flowers inside and use the back of the brush to adjust the flowers into place. Then, finally replace the top and add to the tree.
This Hawaiian Themed Christmas Ornament Craft is that easy to create, a fun keepsake, and a wonderful reminder of an EPIC film!
ABOUT DISNEY’S MOANA:
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people.
DURING HER JOURNEY, MOANA (VOICE OF AULI’I CRAVALHO) MEETS THE ONCE-MIGHTY DEMIGOD MAUI (VOICE OF DWAYNE JOHNSON), WHO GUIDES HER IN HER QUEST TO BECOME A MASTER WAYFINDER.
Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.
Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
