A special thank you goes out to Medieval Times Florida for providing our family with a media rate for the Birthday Party Celebration at Medieval Times Orlando Florida. Opinions expressed are that of my own.
To celebrate my son’s birthday, as a family we recently took a trip to the Kissimmee area where we visited Medieval Times Florida.
My wife and daughter went last year and loved it so much that we decided to go back but this time keep it as complete surprise to the kids.
As we pulled into the parking lot and told them what was happening the screams of delight were heard throughout the car. Given the look on my son’s face in front of the castle, he was definitely excited to go inside!
When we made our way to the main hall and donned out royal crowns we had a quick photo opportunity to remember this special event. You can tell by the expressions on their faces that we were definitely in for a memorable evening.
Once inside the main arena we were escorted to our seats. There are different sections grouped by color and we had a front row seat to cheer on the Blue Knight.
Each place setting is complete to make it seem like you are in a real Medieval Castle with cast iron looking plates and bowls.
As the show begins the servers bring out each course of the meal, which consists of tomato soup, half chicken, potato wedge and corn. The food smelled delicious and tasted great too!
But remember, the unique part of dining at Medieval Times means that you don’t use utensils you must eat with your hands but don’t worry wet naps are provided.

Throughout the meal Knights are competing in various contests from jousting challenges to sword fighting battles each time trying to impress the Princess.
Seeing the birthday boy’s reaction was priceless, and our youngest was really getting into the battles. All of our family enjoyed the personal touches and my oldest thought it was cool when they announced his name.
There are brief interludes in the action that exhibit horse riding skills from the Andalusians, which are a purebred Spanish horse used in the performances.
There was even an impressive birds of prey performance from a Falcon that soars above the audience.
At the end of the night there are intense battles with sparks flying about from the clashes between the Knights swords. All of this action was pretty impressive to both my boys while I think my daughter was still impressed with her sash that was given to her by the Blue Knight.
At the conclusion of the tournament we gathered up our souvenirs, from the flag we used to cheer on our Knight to the commemorative program that is at each place setting, and headed out the main gathering area before heading across the grounds to the on-site museum.
I would encourage you to visit the museum since it houses authentic items from Medieval Spain and is very educational about the time period depicted during the show.

As we headed to our car both my boys were pretending they were Knights and pretended to sword fight with their souvenir flags from the show. A great birthday indeed!
