Thanks to Fox Home Ent Insiders I was given a copy of the Fantastic Four Blu-Ray and Digital HD to review here on Frugal and Fun Mom.
Of course after seeing the DVD cover and all of the color illuminating off of the Invisible Woman’s force field, it inspired me to create a White Chocolate Cashew Popcorn with a hint of blue.
The FANTASTIC FOUR make a triumphant return with MARVEL’s next generation of heroes — four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate universe, their physical forms altered in shocking ways. Their lives changed forever, Reed Richards “MR. FANTASTIC” (Miles Teller), Sue Storm “INVISIBLE WOMAN” (Kate Mara), Johnny Storm “THE HUMAN TORCH” (Michael B. Jordan) and Ben Grimm “THE THING” (Jamie Bell) must harness their incredible new powers and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy, the infamous DR. DOOM (Toby Kebbell).
DVD Special Features Include: Powering Up: Superpowers of the Fantastic Four, The Quantum Gates (Blu-ray Only), Planet Zero (Blu-ray Only), The Score (Blu-ray Only), as well as Concept Art.
Not only would my White Chocolate Cashew Popcorn Recipe be perfect for a Fantastic Four movie night but also fun for kiddos since you can customize the food coloring. FYI it is YUMMY, but be sure to have some napkins handy!
White Chocolate Cashew Popcorn Serves 4-6
What you will need:
8 Cups of Lightly Salted Popcorn (Already Popped)
1 Cup of Salted Cashews Halves
4 Oz of White Chocolate Baking Squares
9 Drops of Blue Food Coloring
Directions:
Spread the popcorn and cashews out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Be sure to remove any unpopped kernels.
Then in a microwavable bowl, melt the White Chocolate Baking Squares. First start with 30 seconds and stir, and then 10 second increments continuing to stir until it is completely liquefied. (As it melts add the 9 drops of food coloring and continue to stir).
Next, drizzle the chocolate over the mix and fold it over to coat the popcorn and nuts. Move this to the fridge and allow it to set for at least 30 minutes (or longer if need be).
It is that easy to make and you can store any left over in an airtight container, that is if you actually have any.
Have you seen the Fantastic Four yet? Who is your favorite member of the group?
My thoughts on the movie: I decided to watch this film alone and after viewing it, I definitely concur with the PG-13 recommendation. There are a few adult words as well as some gory scenes involving Dr. Doom. In addition, because it gives a back story of the characters it is truly geared towards a more mature audience.
Since a large portion of the film focused on how the 4 were transformed, I could definitely see it turning into multiple productions. By the end of the movie, they had not completely developed into their Super Hero personas which left me wanting to see them engaged in more action and adventure.
The Fantastic Four is out on Digital HD and Blu-ray & DVD NOW and is rated PG 13!
