Every so often Hubby and I go out for a date day. Sometimes we watch movies, maybe eat lunch, and other times we simply take an afternoon drive.
On one recent occasion we caught a matinee, grabbed a sandwich, and ended our alone time with a S’MORES Ice Cream Sundae With Homemade Chocolate Syrup. Since you don’t always need a campfire to make S’MORES, an indoor recipe like this is simple to prepare for a Summer Get-Together for 2 or even a larger group.
Now a sweet creation like this is only able to come together with the right ingredients, so earlier in the week I made a trip up to Walmart.
I happened to already have the vanilla ice cream, but I also needed to get Heavy Whipping Cream to create the Chocolate Syrup.
In addition, I stopped by the special display for Hersey’s Milk Chocolate Bars, Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares, and Kraft’s Jet Puffed Marshmallows to get the toppings for 10 Minute S’MORES.
I located this in the center aisle, however you can also find these products in the grocery section of the store.
If you would like to recreate the S’MORES Ice Cream Sundae With Homemade Chocolate Syrup, check out the recipe below:
Ingredients:
2-4 Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares
1/2 Cup of Kraft’s Jet Puffed Miniature Marshmallows
2 Tbsps of Heavy Whipping Cream
Vanilla Ice Cream
FYI this is enough to make 2, however you can cut the ingredients in half for 1 serving or multiply for a larger crowd.
Directions:
For the Chocolate Syrup:
In a microwavable safe bowl place one broken apart Hersey’s Milk Chocolate Bar with 2 Tbsps of Heavy Whipping Cream. Microwave this for 30 seconds and stir until completely combined.
For the Sundaes:
Next, crush the Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares in a resealable bag.
To complete each Sundae put 2 to 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a bowl and pour over half the syrup.
Then sprinkle the graham crackers, and finally place the Kraft’s Jet Puffed Miniature Marshmallows on top, feel free to customize each topping amount it really is that easy.
This dessert got a thumbs up from hubby and I enjoyed it as well. Since we have plenty of ingredients on hand, we can make these again for date night, a weeknight snack, or even on National S’mores Day, August 10th.
