Thanks to the KIWI Shop, I was given kits with Glob Colors to review here on the site and make homemade all natural paints.
Now it happened to also be time to start submitting entries to our local fair, so the kids decided they would paint pictures to display.
To get started we first needed to pick up some canvases so I took a trip to Michaels and picked up a package of six (of course I used a 40% off coupon).
Then I proceeded to set up each child with their Glob Colors All Natural Paint Kit.
Each came with 6 colors, 6 containers with lids, and 2 brushes.
There was also a Recipe for Homemade Play Dough, see how I made it at Learning As A Family.
The non-toxic paint colors included Lemon Verbena, Berry, Pomegranate, Tangerine, Plum and Basil.
It was fun for the kids to take turns smelling the fruit, vegetables, and herb created powders.
To make these Homemade Paints, all I did was add a little powder to each container and then add the same amount of water and mix.
It was immediately ready to use, and we had plenty left over to use again in the future. Plus, I could also cover the mixed paints to be used again the next day.
The kids then traced out what they wanted to create on their canvases and started to paint.
They both had a great time, and my daughter created this beautiful masterpiece called “Butterflies”.
Update: After posting this, the results are in! My Daughter received a 1st Place Ribbon at the County Fair! We are very excited and proud!
Have you ever created Homemade Paints before? Which these color scents would you like to smell first?
