Information provided in the post is from the Walt Disney Studios Press Materials for Cinderella. Cinderella Glass Slipper White Chocolate Candy creation is all my own.
If you haven’t heard the awesome news, Walt Disney Studios is coming out with a new “Cinderella” movie in the spring on 2015.
I have always loved this classic fairy tale, and even wanted to be this princess when I was a little girl. My daughter has this same affection for the story and even dressed up as the character at Halloween and then again at the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Bootique at the park.
Since we just couldn’t contain our excitement, it inspired us to put on our “crowns” one afternoon and create a Cinderella Glass Slipper Candy.
These are really easy to recreate, and would be perfect for a tea party, princess party, or cupcake topper.
Here is how we did it, and this is what you will need:
– Candy Shoe Mold. I ordered mine off of Amazon Here–>Chocolate Candy Mold
– 4 oz box of White Baking Chocolate
– Shimmer Silver Cupcake Gems AKA Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo (I got them at Walmart in the baking products area)
First Step, I put a layer of Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo into each of the shoe molds. I found it easier to put it into the lid and sprinkle in the molds.
Next, I melted the chocolate in the microwave. I put mine into a glass measuring cup and first heated it for 30 seconds and then 15 second increments stirring each time until it was completely melted and very liquid.
Finally, I spooned this carefully over the Cupcake Gems into the molds until they were completely filled. It will be messy, just make sure you completely fill the molds.
Next, I moved this to the freezer. Of course my daughter enjoyed any of the left overs.
After about 5 minutes in the freezer, I pulled the mold out and used the back if a butter knife to scrap off the extra on top.
I put this back into the freezer for another 15 minutes once they were set, I simply popped them out onto a piece of parchment paper.
They are then ready for display, and it was that easy!
Want to get just as excited and as intrigued as we are about the movie? Here is a teaser trailer.
The story follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.
This “Cinderella” easily begins to lose hope, but through a chance encounter with a dashing stranger, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham-Carter), and a little magic, her life changes forever.
Who is your favorite Disney Character? Which actor are you most excited to see in the film Cinderella?

These candies were so fun to make, and they taste yummy. My daughter loves that they are Cinderella’s “Glass Slippers”.
