If you are wanting to make an inexpensive decoration using items you already have, check out this Easter Mason Jar Craft my family made.
I decided to upcycle a couple of glass spaghetti jars I had saved. In addition, I used left over grass from Easter Baskets, Eggs from the Dollar Store, and T-shirt Material that came from a pair of old shorts.
To recreate this Craft, you will need:
1 Glass Jar with a lid
Easter Grass
4 Easter Eggs
Spring Material
Scissors
As always, safety first! I closely observed this craft with my 5-year-old to avoid any accidents with the glass or scissors. Depending upon your child’s maturity, you may have to do more or less.
Tip: This is a really easy craft to create, however before you start, you will need to remove the label from the Jar. To remove it, tear as much as you can off and then soak in cold water for a couple of minutes. Then, rub dish soap on it, and scrap it off with your nails. It should come off pretty easy.
First, place some Easter Grass in the jar.
Second, add an egg. Then repeat this step until all the eggs are all in the jar.
Next, cut a square of material out that is enough to overlap the top of the jar. I did this part as well since I had to use utility scissors.
Finally, put the lid on, add the material, and tie this on with a piece of Easter Grass. When you are finished find a visible area with lighting so all the pretty colors can shine through.
Do you make a Easter Mason Jar Craft at home? What supplies do you use?
I think these look great in groups of 3, and would be perfect for a shelf or a table centerpiece. My daughter and I had fun making them and now we have decorations that can be used over and over again.
If you decide to make this Easter Mason Jar Craft, let me know how it turns out.
Enjoy!
