The following is a sponsored post on behalf of Kid’s Academy Company. Details about the 123 Tracing app were provided, and opinions expressed are that of my own.
Kid’s Academy Company, a developer of apps for kids, has released a new learning game called 123 Tracing. This app teaches fundamental math concepts that are critical for preschoolers like identifying numbers, one-to-one number correspondence, and reading number symbols.
Young students like my preschooler will use math and writing skills for the rest of their lives, and this app provides great practice and reinforcement.
123 Tracing engages children with a game requiring them to fill up a jar with fireflies. This Montessori based program has been designed to teach the forming of numbers through tracing.
The app shows them the direction to trace each digit with an arrow along with fireflies lining the number. As they move along the lines correctly, they accumulate the bugs. If the child struggles a bit with a number, hints and encouragement are provided to support skill building.
This app definitely kept my 5-year-old interested and engaged. She keeps repeating the numbers over and over again trying to master the movements. Once she started, she did not want to put my phone down.
123 Tracing provides an activity that fits in perfectly with the math work we are doing at home and my daughter just sees this app as a game and challenge. I asked her why she liked playing and she said, “I am learning and having fun at the same time”.
The 123 Tracing APP also features:
* Kid-friendly navigation
* Frequent repetition designed to help children learn numbers and their sequence
* Curriculum developed and reviewed by preschool education expert
* An exploratory environment
* Audio instructions
* A kid-tested appropriate game
This FREE app can be downloaded at iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon.
The free version of this only goes to the number 5. As your child plays, there will be an option to upgrade as well as pop ups for other Kid’s Academy Company APPS. For additional numbers, individual profile settings, and an option to keep track of your child’s progress, there is an upgraded version available for $3.99.
Is your child currently learning to write numbers and letters? How do you think this application would or would have benefited their progress to learn this skill?
