I was provided baking related items from Ghirardelli Chocolate to facilitate this post. Opinions expressed are that of my own.
If you are looking for an easy dessert to make for the upcoming Holidays, New Years Celebrations, or Birthday Parties, Celebration Pretzel Bark is perfect fit!
Thanks to Ghirardelli I was provided baking related items to create a dessert. One of the items included in my package was White Chocolate Melting Wafers. Since I LOVE white chocolate and crave chocolate covered pretzels around the holidays, I decided to try my hand at making a pretzel bark.
What you will need:
If you want to recreate this dessert, all you need is a package of Ghirardelli White Chocolate Melting Wafers, Pretzels, and Ice Cream Sprinkles.
Here is how I did it:
First, I laid out a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Then, I spread out around a half a bag of pretzel sticks.
Then I melted the chocolate in the microwave via the instructions on the packaging (Of course I had to sample a few, YUM) and ended up using the entire bag. I was really surprised at how easy this was to do. I then poured this melted chocolate over the top of the pretzels.
I started patting the pretzels into the chocolate and then pushing more pretzels on top as needed until all of the chocolate was spread out and there were hardly any gaps. Make sure the pretzels are completely covered, this way they will stay together. I just stuck any leftover pretzels back into the bag.
Then, I immediately sprinkled a layer of ice cream sprinkles across the top. This was put into the fridge to set.
After about 15 minutes, I broke this apart into pieces directly on the parchment paper, and moved it into an airtight container. The pieces were misshapen, some were bigger, some were smaller pieces. However I kept it all, even the crumbs, it all tastes good.
It is a little salty, a little sweet, and very colorful. If you are making this for Christmas, Valentines, or St Patrick’s, consider substituting in sprinkles that represent the color of the season. I put some of this into a baker’s bags with a bow and gave it to my daughter’s teachers. They loved it!
Do you make anything similar for the holidays? What ingredients do you include?
These Melting Wafers are at Ghirardelli.com, and each 12 oz package retails for $6.00. Larger 2lb packages are available on-line and at Ghirardelli Stores for $12.
FYI, the hardest part of this dessert is trying to stop yourself from eating it all, it is so good!
