Details in this post were provided by the Office Depot Foundation.
For the past 13 years, the Office Depot Foundation has donated backpacks with new school supplies to children in need. This year, the Foundation will donate 300,000 kid-friendly sackpacks to deserving kids across the United States and globally.
By the end of 2013, Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation will have helped more than 3 million children.
I was actually given 3 bags from this program to take a look at, and to distribute to individuals with a need here locally. These canvas packs are made of sturdy material with drawstrings and contain a pencil holder with crayons, an eraser, a ruler and more.
I know how important it is to go off to school prepared and programs like these really make a positive impact on a child’s life.
To learn more about this wonderful initiative, visit the Office Depot Foundation, or check them out on Facebook or Twitter. You can also follow their hashtag #OfficeDepotFndnKids for continued updates.
Has your community been touched by this program? If not, which organizations in your area really make a difference in a child life?
