I love it when I can create a treat for my children that is delicious and requires very little effort. Plus, I like it when I can add more fruit to my children’s diet.
I decided to try my hand at making freezer pops with smoothie ingredients and this turned out great. It is really simple to create, and is ready in a few hours.
Here is what you need:
Blender
8 slot Freezer Pop Mold
1 Cup Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt
2 Cups of Frozen Mixed Fruit
Here is how I did it:
I put 1 cup of Vanilla Yogurt into the blender and added 2 Cups of Frozen Mixed Fruit.
I lightly blended this mixture, just to barely chop up the fruit into smaller pieces.
Tip: I set the blender to “Pulse” as to not burn out my blender motor. When the blender was OFF, I also alternated using a spoon to move around the big chunks of fruit and push them down into the blades.
This may work better in a food processor, however I used what I had.
Then, I scooped this with a spoon into the molds. This went into the freezer overnight. However, if you do it in the day I recommend at least 3 hours for it to set.
Tip: When you want to pull out the pops, run some lukewarm water over the mold for 10 seconds or so, then twist and pull.
This is so easy to make and it has healthy ingredients that I want my kids to have whether it is frozen or not! It is chunky and fun to eat.
My guys are actually having this for an after school snack today.
Do you make anything similar? If so, what do you include in your ingredients?
If you try it out, let me know what you think!
