Right now, Redbox is giving everyone the chance to score free movie credits now through St. Patrick’s Day during the Redbox Lucky to Have Friends Like You Promotion and to celebrate this event, Redbox and SocialMoms asked Mom Bloggers like myself to write a blog post about What Makes Us Feel Lucky.
Well there are so many things that I feel lucky and fortunate to have in my life but, here are just a few of the many:
First, I have a wonderful family. That goes for my immediate family, my husband and kids, as well for my extended family. I am fortunate to have both my Mom and Dad, sisters, and my Grandmother in my life. Plus, I have great in laws and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. We get together for birthdays, and family dinners, and it is so awesome to see the different generations spending time together and to see all the cousins running around having fun.
Second, is having relatively good health. It has been a rocky road, because I suffer from Crohn’s disease and was diagnosed with a Carcinoid Tumor a couple years back.Through the wonder of medical science, proper diet, medication, and exercise, however, I have been in remission for a number of years. It is so important when you have little ones, to be able to get up and go and play and when you have issues like that, it can prevent you from enjoying the little things in life. Fortunately I have been O.K., and will just continue to keep on my current regime and hope that this luck continues.
Third, I have a beautiful home. Although, we want to move to a bigger home, and have had our house on the market for about 5 months, it still is a great place to live. We have many wonderful memories in it, like bringing our children home after they were born, Christmas day, and milestones of our kids. Also, I love to garden, and I have turned our front yard really into a beautiful place, and I enjoy just looking at it and seeing the plants that have grown and transformed into beautiful flowers.
Fourth, a great group of friends. I joined a mom’s group around the time my son turned 2, and I have meet so many nice women. I have formed some great relationships, and from mom’s night out, park play dates, to trips to amusement parks, it has been so much fun to hanging out with them. Plus, it is so great to know that their are women out their going through the same thing you are, and that you can talk to them about what this going on in your life and they can completely understand you.
Finally, I am lucky to have a husband who is a good provider, supporter and hard worker. I am able to stay at home with my kids and the main reason that is possible, is because my husband works hard and provides for us. He goes to work every day to make sure we have the good things in life, but at the same time even though I am at home, he supports me in the many things that I like to do like couponing and blogging. Plus, even though he is at work all week, he finds the time to spend with our kids, and even takes them out, to give me a break.
What are you lucky to have in your life? I would love to here about it, and please do share!
