Teaching the letters and the sounds of the Alphabet can be fun and easy.
Using the things you have around your home can be a great way to reinforce the sounds of the letters and it gives your children a real sense of how the letter is connected to objects.
Picking up cans, cups, and toy cars, showing them to your children, and then telling them that they start with the letter C is one way to relate the letter to the items. Most of us are going to have these objects in our home. Personally, I ask my children to tell me what words that start with C.
Another method is to draw the items out. I’m no artist by any means, but my kids get the idea even if the item is slightly abstract. My kids love coloring these pages I make.
Finally, picking out a book that starts with the letter C or has a main character with a name that starts with the letter C, is another way to teach them about the letter.
We read Clifford the Small Red Puppy Clifford The Small Red Puppy with cd , but another great book is Cookie’s Week Cookie’s Week. Cookie’s Week also teaches the days of the week. Of course, I made sure to tell them that their names start with C.
My children enjoy this and my oldest now asks me what letter are we going to learn about today. I hope your children enjoy these activities as well.
